Saudi Arabia has announced a plan for another megacity that promises an iconic waterfront similar to the one in London. The city called Marafy will be built north of Jeddah and have a mixed-use land development, according to a report in Al-Arabiya. It will have the capacity to accommodate 130,000 people with a seven-mile-long (11 kilometres) man-made canal at its centre, the outlet further said in its report. Marafy is being constructed by ROSHN Group, which is backed by Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund (PIF).

The torch for the 2nd edition of the 2023 Saudi Games has arrived in NEOM as part of the promotional campaign for Saudi Arabia’s largest sports event, which will be held in Riyadh from November 26 to December 10.

Amid massive celebratory atmosphere of the NEOM Beach Games, NEOM sport sector chief Jan Paterson was handed the torch which was then passed on to former footballer Saud Al-Khaibari and female cyclist Mashael Alhazmi.

NEOM has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with cell-cultured seafood developer BlueNalu. The partnership seeks to advance the commercialization, marketing, and distribution of BlueNalu’s cell-cultured seafood offerings, aligning with their shared objectives of enhancing food security and promoting access to nutritious food options for global communities.

OXAGON, the cutting-edge manufacturing and innovation city nestled within NOM, has reached a significant milestone with the commencement of construction on its Research and Innovation (R&I) campus.  The architecturally designed campus, conceived by Grimshaw Architects and engineered by the international consultancy firm Buro Happold, is poised to play a pivotal role in advancing the future of innovation.

NEOM, has launched the NEOM Investment Fund (NIF), designed to support the mega-city development.  The fund will focus on investments in tech startups and next-generation industries via mergers, acquisitions and venture capital.

TROJENA, NEOM’s unique, futuristic ski destination, is currently making significant construction progress across all clusters and major assets to deliver the development to the 2026 construction completion target.  Construction is continuing at pace, and NEOM is well on the way to creating The Lake – a magnificent 2.8-km-long man-made freshwater lake at the heart of TROJENA – and the vertical village The Vault.

NEOM has partnered with UK-based Dive Butler International to enhance the aquatic and diving experience at luxury island Sindalah. In a press statement, NEOM noted that the partnership will provide visitors with a deluxe experience both above and below the waters of the Red Sea.  Under the agreement, Dive Butler will operate a five-star Professional Association of Diving Instructors dive center in Sindalah, providing a wide range of aquatic activities for visitors.
