Saudi Arabia will host the first Hydrogen Arabia Summit & Exhibition on 8–9 December 2025 at the Crowne Plaza Riyadh RDC, positioning the Kingdom as a global hub for hydrogen and clean energy collaboration.  Organised by RX, the company behind the World Hydrogen Summit, the event will feature a high-level conference and exhibition uniting senior government officials, global energy leaders, investors, and innovators in hydrogen and carbon capture technologies.

A recent deep-sea expedition off the Saudi Arabian coast led to an astonishing discovery 1,770 meters below the surface of the Gulf of Aqaba. Researchers operating a remotely controlled vehicle uncovered unexpected shimmering pockets of dense, salt-saturated water, known as brine pools, situated in the ocean floor. What makes these pools particularly remarkable is their eerily still and oxygen-free environment.

TROJENA aims to retender the main construction contract for the multibillion-riyal TROJENA Ski Village project in Saudi Arabia. The client, NEOM, has noted plans to reissue the tender “in a couple of months.” In May, TROJENA received final offers from contractors for the Ski Village project. Furthermore, NEOM requested a new round of offers after issuing an addendum in early January. Contractors submitted revised proposals on 17 May.

Construction contracts worth $24bn have now been awarded for Saudi Arabia’s NEOM project and sub-projects, according to property consultancy Knight Frank. They include $470m for Magna, $3.31bn for TROJENA – set to have the world’s largest man-made lake – $8.9bn for THE LINE, and $9.3bn for OXAGON.

Satellite imagery from Maxar Technologies has revealed the construction of a luxury complex within the NEOM region, raising eyebrows among critics. The development, featuring multiple swimming pools, private beaches, and a golf course, is reportedly linked to Prince Mohammed bin Salman, who chairs NEOM’s board. This opulent construction stands in stark contrast to the stalled progress of NEOM’s key projects, such as THE LINE, a 110-mile vertical city that was anticipated to begin its first phase of construction long ago.
