The National Grain Supply Company (SABIL), in cooperation with NEOM, completed the discharge of its first wheat vessel at Port of NEOM on the Red Sea, carrying 66,000 tonnes of wheat. SABIL said the milestone, announced July 5, reflects the company’s strategy to diversify logistics gateways and enhance supply chain efficiency, increasing operational flexibility and expanding access to target markets and regions.
Utilizing Port of NEOM in the country’s northwest is expected to accelerate the delivery of shipments to SABIL’s northern branches, including Tabuk, Al Jouf, Hail and Al Qassim, supporting efficient distribution and improving service.
SABIL is a SALIC Group subsidiary wholly owned by the Public Investment Fund, Saudi Arabia’s sovereign wealth fund. SABIL oversees the operational management of grain facilities across all silo branches in various regions of Saudi Arabia and maintains strategic reserves.
Port of NEOM, strategically located on the Red Sea, is being developed as an integrated logistics hub, providing direct connections across three continents through a network of ports, roads and maritime and land trade corridors.
