In 2022, the sanctuary welcomed a group of animals including ibex, sand gazelles, mountain gazelles, and the Arabian oryx, an antelope that hadn't walked NEOM's sands for over a century. This group of animals had 60 babies during the first breeding season, as Arabian Business reported.

SIBS has just signed a design-and-build contract. It includes the design, production, logistics, assembly, and finalisation of 1,300 apartments spread across 22 buildings, totalling approximately 100 000 m2 of GFA. The sale is attributed to SIBS business segment, industrial sales, and delivery is in the form of project sales, where it will deliver turn-key buildings from a finalised bottom slab upwards. The entire project will be commissioned and delivered by Q4 2024.

Saudi Arabia’s NEOM has awarded an estimated SR4bn ($1bn) design-and-build contract to deliver infrastructure and building works for Terminal 1 of the port at the OXAGON industrial city development. The contract was awarded to a joint venture of local firm El-Seif Engineering Contracting, Egyptian contractor Hassan Allam Construction and Beijing-headquartered China Harbour Engineering Company.
