Wizz Air Holdings is planning to outfit equip its future Saudi Arabian unit with around 50 aircraft, of which half will operate to international destinations in the Middle East, while the other half will be split equally between domestic routes and other international operations, Bloomberg has reported citing investor briefings. The LCC hopes to achieve the target fleet size by the end of the decade, although Chief Executive József Varádi stressed that the priority was finding a local partner. Wizz Air Holdings intends to enter into a joint venture with a Saudi company, which is also necessary for regulatory reasons.

The NEOM media hub is set to become a hotbed for the Kingdom’s creative talent as well as a major contributor to the nation’s economy, according to one its senior executives. Although still in its early days, the media hub is a key element of the NEOM smart city, and one of its missions is to compete with the world’s elite creative centers by driving local workforce development.

Saudi Arabia's $500bn megacity NEOM is planning to serve alcohol at a beach resort set to open next year, according to a report in the Wall Street Journal.  Documents seen by the WSJ reveal that a premium wine bar, a cocktail bar and a "champagne and desserts" bar will be part of a Red Sea island called Sindalah, set to open in 2023. There will also be a retail wine shop with a "striking vertical wall display".  The consumption, importation, brewing and selling of alcohol is completely banned in the Gulf kingdom, punishable by fines, lengthy imprisonment and flogging.
